Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs on the verge of being named Nottingham Forest manager

Ryan Giggs is on the brink of being named Nottingham Forest manager, according to widespread reports. The 42-year-old has spent 29 years at Old Trafford and has served under both Louis van Gaal and David Moyes in the last three seasons in a coaching capacity.

Jose Mourinho is keen to keep Giggs at the club but is unwilling to hand him the role of being his assistant manager. Giggs was hopeful of being named United’s new manager following the sacking of Louis van Gaal and he’s been considering his future in the last fortnight since Mourinho’s appointment.

And, according to the Mirror, Giggs has decided to leave the Theatre of Dreams and will be named as Nottingham Forest boss in the coming days.

Ryan Giggs branded a cheat with graffiti outside Manchester mansion

Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs had the outside of his house covered in abusive graffiti. The former Red Devils midfielder is alleged to have cheated on his estranged wife Stacey, who was seen speaking to police near the scene this morning.

‘Cheating t***’ and ‘Welsh c***’ were among the expletives painted across his walls and fences.

This follows further reports that Giggs has been showering one of his PR girls with lavish gifts, including flowers and designer handbags, whilst indulging in what has been described as a ‘flirty’ relationship.

A long white sheet was used to cover the graffiti, and work has already started to paint over the damage. Giggs’ relationship with Stacey began in 2002 and the pair have two children.

However, it emerged in 2011 that the former Wales international was having an affair with his younger brother’s wife Natasha. Giggs now faces an extremely expensive divorce as his wife could land as much as half of his £40million fortune.

The couple split up months ago, with the relationship now looking beyond repair as Stacey demands a divorce, which would supposedly be one of the most expensive in British history.

The 42-year-old previously spent £150,000 on a legal battle to cover up his affair with a glamour model, with this series of incidents leaving his squeaky clean image in tatters.

Updates: Sunday Oliseh is new Nigeria coach

Sunday Oliseh has been unveiled by the Nigeria Football Federation, replacing sacked Stephen Keshi, as coach of the Super Eagles. The 40-year-old was the overwhelming favourite to be handed the role after the ‘Big Boss’ was shown the exit door by the NFF two weeks ago.

And on Wednesday, Oliseh finally signed a contract with the NFF which ties him to the Super Eagles until 2020, becoming the fifth player in the 1994 class to handle the senior national team after Austin Eguavoen, Samson Siasia, Daniel Amokachi and Keshi.

"It's a great honour to be coach of this great nation,” said Oliseh at the unveiling ceremony in Abuja.

"I'm not coming as a messiah. I'm coming as a man who wants to serve his country and give 150%.

"Gone are the days when we had individual players who can win games on their own. But we have potential," he said.

He also laid down the law to players of Nigerian origin on his requirements before they can feature for his team.

"No player outside of first division in Nigeria or elsewhere will play for the Super Eagles. We will work together with the technical committee because if we fail, they fail,” he concluded.

The ex-Nigeria international will now hope to inspire an immediate improvement in the Eagles’ fortunes, starting with a win against Tanzania in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in September.

Former Super Eagles coach Musa Abdullahi had died

Musa Abdullahi

Former Assistant coach of the Super Eagles, Musa Abdullahi died on Sunday January 25 after years of battling from stroke. He died in his home state of Kogi.

Abdullahi assisted Coach Fanny Amun to lead Nigeria to a second FIFA Under-17 World Cup title in Japan in 1993. He also coached the Nigerian under 17 and 20 teams. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
