Her dress for the swear in, may she is not informed about the occasion. Another thing is why is she holding on to the microphone? The husband left hand from the picture is functioning. Well make them know say he is married abi?

Police get new AIG, 10 commissioners

The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of 156 police officers including Kano State Commissioner of Police Musa Mohammed, who was elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police.

The PSC also promoted 10 Deputy Commissioners of Police to the rank of Commissioners of Police.
They are Ero Oga, Yunana Babas, Dan-Malam Mohammed, Mu’azu Halilu, Rabiu Yusuf, Sanusi Lemu, Ahmed Iliyasu, Isyaku Garko, Mohammed Kura and Alhassan Mamuda.

The commission, in a statement by its spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, on Tuesday, also said it had promoted 19 Assistant Commissioners of Police to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police.
They include Akingbola Olatunji, Isaac Turner, Sadiku Gbenga and Abraham Ayim.

Twenty Chief Superintendents of Police were also promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, with one Superintendent of Police moved to the rank of CSP.

The PSC said 100 Assistant Superintendents of Police were promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police. They include Atiku Ibrahim of the Enugu State Police Command.

It also elevated four Inspectors to the rank of ASP, and upgraded junior police officers who had been trained as pilots to the rank of DSP in line with their pilot licence and certificate.

“The promotion, which has been conveyed to the Inspector-General of Police for implementation, takes effect from March 18, 2016 except that of the AIG, whose promotion takes effect from March 23,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has urged Nigerian pupils to imbibe the lessons learnt from participating in quiz competitions to prepare themselves for leadership positions and governance in the future.

Speaking while declaring open the 2nd Nigeria Police Force Quiz Competition for Secondary schools as part of the 2016 Police Week, Mrs. Buhari said the police deserved commendation for collaborating with parents and teachers to teach and train the next generation of Nigerians.

Police Secondary School, Ukana in Akwa Ibom, emerged as the overall winner of the competition from the five participating schools, carting home three laptops and a mobile handset.

Royal Academy, Wuye, Abuja, came second while Government Secondary School, Tudun Wada, Abuja, came third. Other schools that participated in the competition were Federal Government College, Kwali, and Command Secondary School, Suleja, Niger State.

Abducted female commissioner, Sarafina Otazi, released after 30 days

The Commissioner for Local Government Bayelsa, Madam Sarafina Otazi who was kidnapped on December 20 in Otueke on her way to Ewoi Community in Ogbia local Government of Bayelsa State has been released by her abductors in the early hours of Thursday.

According to Comrade Alagoa Morris, a well known environmental rights activist and human rights crusader who confirmed the cheery news this morning to PM NEWS “If information just received is true (and I have 99% reasons to believe it is true), then the commissioner (lady) who was kidnapped in Bayelsa state has been released by her abductors in the early hours of Thursday.”

“The kidnappers dropped her in (Ondewari,) my community in Southern Ijaw local government area of the state at about 3:00 am and zoomed off in their speed boat.

“Very unfortunately they are putting my community in bad light,” he said, adding that, “she was later made to board one of the speedboats leaving the community this morning for Yenagoa around 7:00am.”

Alagoa did not however disclose how much ransom was paid to secure her release. He said as expected, ransom was paid before her eventual release and that her kidnappers were said to have demanded for N20 million.

He explained further that after the leadership of the Ondewari community got the information of Otazi’s presence they took her to the home of the acting chief of the community and she was later escorted by the Community Development Committee leadership, out of the community to Yenagoa.

Otazi was seized at gun point and forcibly taken away on December 20 at Otuoke while on her way to Ewoi community in Ogbia local government area for a funeral. The kidnappers, according to her family members, earlier established contact with them and were demanding a ransom of over N20 million to set her free.

A family member, Endurance Frank, had earlier confirmed contact with the abductors while she was in captivity. Otazi had served as Commissioner for Women Affairs and acting chairman of Ogbia local government council.

Bayelsa Police Command is yet to react to the release of the commissioner.
