Drew Goddard likely to be the new man in Spider-Man Reboot

The Spider-Man film reboot due out in the summer of 2017 may have found its writer and director.
Drew Goddard, 40, has become the likely candidate to lead the next installment of the Spider-Man franchise, according to an article on Monday by Deadline. Goddard previously was linked to the Spider-Man spinoff The Sinister Six focusing on the web-slinger's supervillain enemies.

Goddard who wrote the screenplay for the Ridley Scott film The Martian currently in production with Matt Damon. He also wrote the screenplay for Cloverfield and was one of the writers of the 2013 zombie film World War Z starring Brad Pitt.

The Spider-Man reboot will be the first involving Feige who has a strong track record of success producing Marvel titles including the Iron Man series starring Robert Downey Jr, the Captain America series featuring Chris Evans and the 2014 blockbuster Guardians Of The Galaxy.

The film rights to Spider-Man were acquired by Sony in 1999 and the upcoming reboot marks the first collaboration with rival Marvel Studios owned by Disney.
