Manchester United complete Sergio Romero transfer as goalkeeper hails move as a ''dream come true''

Manchester United have signed goalkeeper Sergio Romero - with David De Gea's future still undecided. Argentina World Cup star Romero has signed a three-year contract with United, with the option to extend for a further year. Romero played under United boss Louis van Gaal at AZ Alkmaar, winning the Dutch title, and has made the move to Old Trafford as a free agent after leaving Sampdoria.

The 28-year-old has been signed amid a backdrop of increasing uncertainty over the future of De Gea, who is wanted by Real and who wants to join the 10-time European Cup winners. United are adamant De Gea will not be going to Madrid unless Real skipper Sergio Ramos comes the other way, which now seems unlikely, with reports from Spain that the defender is ready to sign a new deal.
