Arsenal want Gonzalo Higuain transfer as striker

Top source says Arsenal now want to sign world star with £69.1m release clause

Arsenal are interested in signing Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli as their striker hunt continues, according to Spanish journalist Kike Marin. The Gunners have been linked with several forwards this summer, but Arsene Wenger has been insisting that he’s not close to signing anybody.

Yet El Confidential reporter Marin says Wenger remains in the hunt for a new No.9 – and attention has turned to Napoli goal machine Higuain. The Argentine international has a £69.1million release clause in his contract, and Napoli’s owner insists he won’t leave for any less than that.However, with the club failing to qualify for the Champions League, things could change if he decides to push for a move away.

Higuain scored 29 goals for Napoli last season and aged 27, he is arguably at his peak
