Liverpool have reportedly completed the signing of 17-year-old Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi. The youngster, who currently plies his trade with Imperial Soccer Academy in Nigeria, was understood to be a target for Manchester City, having impressed at the U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
But according to reports, Liverpool have won the race for Awoniyi, who is set to undergo a medical at Anfield and sign a professional contract imminently. Once the deal is complete, Awoniyi will be loaned out to gain first-team experience, with Belgium and Holland his most likely destinations.
