My Olympics Gold Medal Is Stolen, ‎Amunike Reveals

Newly appointed Flying Eagles coach, Emmanuel Amunike has revealed that his Olympics soccer gold medal from Atlanta’96 has been stolen.

Amunike disclosed this to fifa.com adding that the medal was stolen from his house in Lagos. The former ‎Golden Eaglets coach scored the winning goal for Nigeria in a 3-2 win over Argentina at the Atlanta’96 Olympics to become the first African country to win gold at the Olympics football event.

He has also backed former teammate Samson Siasia to repeat the feat at this year’s Rio Olympics in Brazil. “It is not going to be an easy task, but the coach (Samson Siasia) is experienced. He was in charge when Nigeria won the silver medal in 2008 and also led the team to second at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2005,” Amunike stated.
