A 23-year-old City worker has died after he plummeted from a tenth-storey roof terrace in front of dozens of horrified witnesses. The unnamed man, who is believed to have worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, fell from the top floor of MoreLondon Riverside near Tower Bridge on the South Bank at around 7.45pm last night.
The City worker died at the scene, close to London's City Hall, despite the attempts of paramedics and security guards to save him.The incident is believed to have happened in front of dozens of horrified eyewitnesses, who described hearing screaming.
The Evening Standard reports the man landed just yards from Argentinian restaurant Gaucho. A witness told the paper: 'I saw it. It was horrible. I wasn't looking up but I saw his silhouette falling against the sky with his legs and arms flailing and then heard a massive bang.'
He said ambulance crews arrived at the scene quickly but many people were distraught after witnessing the incident. A 19-year-old bar worker told the Standard: 'I was clearing glasses away when all of a sudden there was a really loud screaming noise and shouting from near the fountains.
