The Aviation Security at the International airport Ikeja Lagos on Thursday 3rd of September arrested one Mr Tijani Owolabi, a cleaner at the airport while trying to move about $271,135 for a passenger from one screening point to another.
The Deputy General Manager Public Affairs FAAN, Mr Nnaekpe Onyekwere disclosed this. He said the huge amount was found on the cleaner, during a comprehensive screening at one of the screening points at ‘D’ Finger of the international terminal.
Some of the foreign currency were discovered in the suspect’s cleaning bucket while the rest was found on him. The airport cleaner was apprehended by Aviation Security staff and handed over to the appropriate security agencies at the airport for further investigation.
