The nation’s armed forces on Thursday began rehearsal towards the October 1 independence anniversary celebration. This independence celebration would be the first to be witnessed by Muhammadu Buhari as democratically elected President.
The military rehearsal, which took place at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, indicates that President Buhari will want the anniversary celebrated the same way former President, Goodluck Jonathan did.
It will be recalled that since 2010 when the October 1 celebration was marred by explosions at the Eagle Square, Abuja, subsequent celebrations organized by the immediate past administration had taken place inside Aso Rock.
