One person has been killed and three others wounded in a shooting at Northern Arizona University, officials said. School public relations director Cindy Brown said the suspected shooter is in custody.
The shooting occurred at 1.20am this morning in a car park outside Mountainview Hall dormitory at the north-east side of the Flagstaff campus.
Ms Brown said she did not know what led to the shooting and did not have any details about the
suspect or victims, their conditions and whether they were students. An official Twitter account for the university warned students at the dormitory to stay indoors.
They later posted that the shooter was in custody and the site was no longer on lockdown. University authorities have scheduled a press conference this morning to give more information on the incident.
