
A police officer is being praised for his paternal instincts after he picked up and comforted a boy who had got lost in a crowd. Officer David Taylor was on patrol at the International Rice Festival in Crowley, Louisiana, when he spotted the boy.
He told ABC News: ‘He was extremely upset… I put him on my shoulders to see if he would be able to see his parents.
‘He started to fall asleep, and I moved him down to my chest.’ His mother was found about half an hour later and they were reunited. He added: ‘What I was doing is nothing different from the rest of our law enforcement colleagues. The only difference is that someone took a photo of me.’ See another photo below...
