Parts of the City of London were shut down by police today after a ‘suspicious package’ sparked a bomb scare. It turned out to be a Deliveroo bag. Officers closed off Bishopsgate and Liverpool Street in both directions following a report of a package at around 10am, City of London Police said.
Police said it was an ‘ongoing incident’. ‘Traffic at a standstill. ‘Absolute chaos.’
It soon came to light that the package was a Deliveroo container.
