The Governing Council of the Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK) has approved the appointment of Prof. Bello Bala Shehu as the new Vice Chancellor of the University, for a single term of five years.
Registrar of the Institution, Mr. Ibrahim A. Mungadi, in a statement on Monday, stated that the appointment of the new Vice Chancellor was approved by the Council at its 9th meeting, held on Thursday, 26th October, 2017.
He said the institution considered the report of the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board and approved the appointment of Professor Bello Bala Shehu.
”Until his appointment, Professor Bello Bala Shehu was the Provost of the University’s College of Health Sciences. He was at various times, the Chief Medical Director of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto; the Chief Medical Director of the National Hospital, Abuja and Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Birnin-Kebbi”, the statement read.
“Prof. Shehu, a globally-acclaimed Neurosurgeon, is a Fellow to several professional institutions including the West African College of Surgery; Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland; American College of Surgeons; and National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria”.
