A 17-year-old footballer died after he had a heart attack brought on by jumping into a swimming pool on holiday in Turkey. Jordan Burndred was seen clutching his chest moments after he leapt into the water at his hotel on September 27.
The teenager, a talented footballer who played as a defender for Leek Town under-18s, was able to reach the side of the pool but was pulled out and resuscitated by fellow holidaymakers. He was then rushed to a hospital in Marmaris but suffered further cardiac arrests and was sedated on a life support machine.

Jordan was treated at Ahu Hospital for ten days but passed away at 7.20am today after another heart attack during the night. His mum, stepdad Danny Everill, 28 and his three-year-old sister Daisy were with him on holiday and they were joined by several other family members including his dad Steve Mountford and sister Jasmin, 19 when he fell ill.
Paying tribute to his son yesterday, dad Steve said if he could raise awareness of underlying heart conditions then the family would try to get some comfort. Rest in peace
