A woman has been arrested for drink driving with a 15ft tree wedged in her bonnet. A policeman spotted Mayann Christy’s car driving down Roselle Road, Illinois, with the large foliage stuck in her grill.
The police officer stopped the 54-year-old and saw that the air bags on the vehicle had also deployed – presumably after initially hitting the tree.
The woman, who was driving a 2004 Lincoln, said she had hit the tree somewhere in her hometown of Spruce Court, Schaumburg, but couldn’t remember exactly where. Police said they arrested her for drink driving because she smelled of alcohol and failed sobriety tests.
Writing on Facebook after the woman was arrested for driving under the influence, Roselle Police said: ‘Yet another reason why you should not drink and drive.’
