Amber Heard is divorcing Johnny Depp. The actress filed the papers on May 22, just three days after his beloved mother Betty Sue Palmer died following a long illness. She cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ just 15 months after the pair married at their LA home in February 2015, having met on the set of her 2011 movie The Rum Diary.
TMZ reports that Johnny has asked the judge to reject Amber’s claim for spousal support, as they wed with no prenup in place. Johnny, who’s said to be worth $400million, has already been spotted without his wedding ring while walking the red carpet for new movie Alice Through The Looking Glass, which was the same day the papers were filed.
Depp has hired celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has in the past represented Kim Kardashian, Ryan Reynolds and Britney Spears.
The last time the two were seen together publicly was when they made an apology video for smuggling their dogs into Australia.
Depp had been in the country filming the new Pirates Of The Caribbean but had failed to declare Amber’s two terriers, which had entered the country on his private jet.
