26-year-old Kayla Cole spent £9,000 on a boob job which she now claims has ‘ruined her life’. The mum of two, from New South Wales, Australia, feels so embarrassed by her post-op breasts that she’s forever hiding them under baggy clothing.
Kayla first decided to get the implants four years ago, after breastfeeding reduced her boobs from a EE cup to a B. Describing her natural breasts as looking like ‘sacks of skin’, Kayla decided to go ahead and paid $17,000 AUS Dollars (£8,500) for implants so that she could achieve C-cup breasts.
But just three months after the surgery, Kayla began to notice that her breasts were still uneven. She went back to see the surgeon, but he put the unevenness down to ‘swelling and bruising’ from the surgery.
But a few months down the line, one implant started to fall through her breast pocket towards her chest.
Worried, Kayla opted to see a different plastic surgeon for a second opinion, who ended up pointing out 11 problems with her breast, which included the fact the implants had actually been spaced too far apart, and both nipples were of different sizes.
And to make matters even worse, she was quoted £2,500 to correct he breasts – but as she is still currently paying off the first surgery, she simply can’t afford it.
‘I didn’t get surgery so that I could be the blonde girl with the massive fake boobs, I just wanted for them to look normal and natural but it all went horribly wrong,’ Kayla said.
‘I can see the implant ripples on both breasts, one sits lower than the other, one is firmer than the other and that’s just from what I can see.
‘My scarring is really bad now and I can see all the edges of the implant around my breast and can feel them shifting down, falling out of my breast pocket.’
Kayla wishes she never had the implants in the first place, as her confidence has hit rock-bottom due to feeling so self-conscious of her boobs, which she describes as being ‘deformed’.
Her self-esteem has got so low, in fact, that she even hides her chest from her partner of nine years.
She admitted: ‘I’ve had a lot of anxiety because of them and must have shed a thousand tears, I still struggle to look at them in the mirror.
All I wanted was normal, natural sized boobs after they were saggy and different cup sizes from breastfeeding, now they’re worse than ever.’
Kayla feels her surgeon has taken no responsibility for the botched plastic surgery, and according to Kayla, he has blamed the problems on her putting on some weight – but another consultant confirmed this was not the case.
She said: ‘I called up many lawyers to try to take my surgeon to court, but I’m not in a financial position to.
‘I have two young children, a business and I’m still paying off my initial surgery costs.’
But alongside the the heartache the surgery has caused, is the pain of the costs, which comes by every week to remind her of the awful situation.
And though she’s currently unable to get herself out of it due to financial reasons, she’s sharing her story to warn other girls away from going through the same thing that she has.
She said: ‘I was quick to get surgery so the one thing I would say to others is just make sure you do your research and read all of the reviews available for the company.
